Additional Features for Relay Users..........................

 

The following services are in conjunction with an FCC order to provide enhancements to Telecommunications Relay Service.  These enhancements intend to improve the overall effectiveness of TRS users and allow for greater flexibility adapting to all individuals with communications needs.

 

MRC will now be processing calls for:  
HCO to TTY
 TTY to HCO
HCO to HCO
 2-line HCO
VCO to VCO
TTY to VCO
 TTY to TTY users. 

  • HCO to TTY/TTY to HCO :  This feature gives individuals with limited speech capabilities the ability to communicate with individuals without hearing or speech capabilities through the MRC.

  • HCO to HCO:  This feature is ideal for people who want to type for themselves.  This allows two HCO users to communicate via TTY with each other directly.

  • 2-line HCO:  This feature is ideal for a person who can hear some sounds and prefers to type.  Anyone who wishes to use HCO and has conference call or three-way calling can use two line HCO feature by using one line for typing and the other for receiving.

  • TTY to TTY:  This feature allows a TTY customer to talk directly with another  TTY customer.

  • VCO to TTY:  This feature allows a VCO user to speak to a TTY user through relay.  The rep will type the VCO's words to the TTY user.

  • TTY to VCO:  This feature allows a TTY user to speak to a VCO user through relay.  The rep will type the TTY's words to the VCO user.

  • VCO to VCO:  This feature allows a VCO user to speak to another  VCO  user through relay.  The rep will type both VCO's users words to both users.
